oik nivo slider 1.1.1 downloaded over 200 times today

The oik-nivo-slider plugin has been downloaded over 200 times today. I’m really pleased about this… but I’m worried that there are many people who aren’t benefitting from it.
A while back I noticed that the oik plugin had been downloaded 1,000 times.

This was another milestone in the life of oik; I reported the first in oik plugins reaches downloads in November last year.

Well, today the number of oik downloads totalled 1125. BUT, since oik-nivo-slider is dependent upon oik I would have expected the number of oik downloads to follow suit.

There are a couple of scenarios.

1. People are downloading the oik nivo slider and then finding that it apparently does nothing; they upload some images, type in [nivo] and get [nivo] back when the page or post is displayed.
2. Everyone who is downloading oik nivo slider already has oik.

I’m inclined to believe that the first is most likely. So for all of you out there who have not yet downloaded oik here’s what you need to do.
