There have been over 1300 downloads of the cookie-cat WordPress plugin since it was made available on WordPress.org a fortnight ago. A new version is currently being tested and will be made available soon.
A major limitation of the first version of the cookie-cat plugin was that the XML mapping file that it uses is static; it’s delivered as part of the plugin you download.
In version 1.1 there is an administrative interface which enables you to download an XML file tailored to your website.
Although the cookie-cat website’s database is still rather sparse, the new version of the cookie-cat plugin will be able to dynamically query the database to find the latest available information.
How you make use of the results is, of course, still up to you. But I hope you will agree that this is a significant improvement. The more people / websites who contribute valuable information about cookies the better it is for WordPress
