Tomorrow will be the first day of 2013. The Copyright statement on most of my WordPress websites will automatically update to include 2013 in the year range. This is thanks to the magic of the

shortcode, just one of the many useful shortcodes from the oik plugin.

• A copyright statement helps protect your intellectual capital.
• You should ensure that it’s displayed prominently. e.g. In the footer of each page.
• It should contain both the original year of the Copyright and the latest year in which changes were made.
• For a website with a blog it’s advisable that the “to year” is the current year.
