WordPress 3.8 and oik-plugins

A new version of WordPress has been announced, so once again we’ll be testing our plugins for compatibility, then upgrading to it. We’ll be applying the changes to a number of different test sites before updating oik-plugins.com, oik-plugins.co.uk and oik-plugins.eu

Problems after upgrade?

If you have already upgraded and have experienced any problems with an oik plugin then please let us know.

Red herrings

We looked into a problem with shortcodes wrapped in two square brackets. e.g. [[shortcode]]. The code is not expected to expand but reduce to a single square bracket. e.g [shortcode]. The problem is associated with wordpress-seo, but that plugin is not to blame. There are a number of workarounds, and a possible fix to core. More on this later.
